The planes of the Armavia company flying from and to the Zvartnots international airport are presently flying with a slight delay because of heavy snowfall.
Of 13 flight scheduled for today 3 ones to Simferopol, Moscow and Novosibirsk departed with a delay of 10 minutes to 1 hour. The runways is constantly being cleared of snow. But the other planes may depart with a much bigger delay as the Russian destinations are having much worse weather conditions. For example Armavia’s plane has been unable to depart from Rostov-on-Don for two days, says Armavia’s spokesman Garik Siroyan.
Zvartnots’ spokesman Gevorg Abrahamyan says that there have been no serious delays in the last days. The airport’s navigation equipment allows planes to take off and land with 350 m visibility. But visibility was not so low in the last days. Delayed now are only flights from Krasnodar and St Petersburg by the Kuban and Pulkovo companies respectively.
