KHACHKAR TO BE PLACE IN POLISH TOWN OF ELBLONGE

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 17. ARMINFO. A khachkar (cross-stone) will be place in the Polish town of Elblonge in memory to the centuries-old Armenian-Polish friendship. Editor-in-Chief of Elblonge journal , artist, specialist in Armenia studies Zbignev Schmurlo told ARMINFO.

According to him, for about 1,000 years Armenians have been living in Poland,a nd now the Armenian population of Poland is about 80,000. 40 Armenian families live in Elblonge, and there must be a khachkar where Armenians live, Schmurlo said. He informed that several sculptors of Armenia have also expressed readiness to make it.

Schmurlo is the author of 9 articles about Armenia and Armenians. Since 1999, he has been actively cooperating with the Polish community of Armenia.
