YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 16. ARMINFO. Today the visiting president of Estonia Arnold Ruutel paid a visit to Yerevan Brandy Factory (YBF) owned by a French company Perno Rikar.
Arnold Ruutel learned about the history of YBF which dates back more than a century. The president started his trip from the very heart of the factory – cellars where cognac is kept in oak barrels for bottling. Arnold Ruutel signed on a “barrel of peace” wishing happiness and peace to the Armenian nation. The “barrel of peace” is planned to be opened after the resolution of Nagorno Karabakh conflict. Later the head of the Estonian government walked along the Alley of Anznavour where quality cognac of 1902 is kept which brought fame to the renowned brandy maker Nikolai Shustov. Arnold Ruutel was presented with 25-year old cognac in a 421 liter barrel. The president planted a fur-tree to the memory of his visit to YBF. He confessed that is not an expert in cognac himself but will be assisted by his ministers.
