ARMENIAN IP-TELEPHONY TO GO ON STRIKE

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 11. ARMINFO. All companies providing service in IP-telephony will go on strike, an organizational committee of IP service companies stated today.

The statement particularly says that the strike is connected with the Nov 3 decision of the government of Armenia to grant monopoly rights to Armenian telephone company ArmenTel. The president of Center of Analyses and Research of Work Artiom Khachatrian told Arminfo that they are going to submit by hand 10,000 signatures of Armenian citizens protesting against changes in License number 60 and leaving 3,000 people out of jobs who currently are employed in 250 IP service companies to the president of Armenian Robert Kocharian, the prime -minister Andranik Margarian, the Ombudswoman Larisa Alaverdian. “If the authorities do not react to the action, the strike will continue without specific time limits, Artiom Khachaturian said. The strike will set off at 5:00 p.m.. The organizational committee will announce whether the strike will continue or end tomorrow at 5:00 p.m.
