[30/10/2004] Closed the XXXVI Chess Olympiad
The XXXVI Chess Olympiad Calvià 2004 was closed with a brilliant ceremony, in which the winner teams received their medal: Ukraine, Russia and Armenia, in the men’s section, and China, USA and Russia, in the women’s section.
Just after de concert of the Calvià Municipal Music Band, the Organization and the FEDA paid a tribute to the famous Spanish player Arturo Pomar.
Viktor Korchnoi, 73, the oldest player, and Deisy Cori, 11, from Peru, received a medal.
The fireworks closed the ceremony.
