ARMENIAN NATIONAL LOST FIFTH ROUND

Armenian grand masters suffered the first defeat in World Chess Olympics in Italy. They were beaten by Indian rivals 1.5 – 2.5. Levon Aroyan, Raphael Vahanyan and Smbat Lputyan fought to draw. Gabriel Sargssyan brought defeat to its teammates by losing his game.

After the fifth round, Ukraine tops the table. Armenia was slipped to 12th position.

Armenian chess players will face Canadians at the sixth round.
