9 OF 33 ARMENIANS TAKEN HOSTAGES IN BESLAN KILLED

BESLAN, SEPTEMBER 6. ARMINFO. Of 33 Armenians taken hostages by terrorist in Beslan Sept 1 9 were killed – 5 of them children, says the Armenian consul to the Southern Federal District of Russia Ararat Gomtsyan. Thereby he has refuted the earlier report that there were 5-7 Armenians among the hostages and none of them was killed.

21 Armenians were schoolchildren. Almost all the wounded Armenians are in Moscow.

Over 100 bodies have not been identified yet. So the information may change.

The official statistics as of now are 336 killed and 400 wounded, half of them children.
