At the initiative of a number of technical information organizations and international congress will be organized that will envisage two arrangements: open source and investments’ conference. Hovhannes Avoyan, Chairman of “Council of Information Technology Organizations, Bagrat Yengibarian, Director of “Organization Incubator” Foundation and Armen Shahverdian, head of “Open Source Armenia” program said this during the press conference held at Armenpress’ Press Hall.
Hovhannes Avoyan stated that the aim of the coming arrangement is to emphasize for one more time that Armenia is the most briefly developing country in the sphere of higher technologies in the region. Dwelling on “Open Source Armenia” program, Armen Shahverdian said that 500 specialists have been working on that program for over a year. It helps compete with the Microsoft and other programs and this is an alternative. The main feature of the program is that it helps using the computer in Armenian, it can be used everywhere, in the administrative bodies, the companies and the schools. Armen Shahverdian said that the new program helps many young programmers to gain experience and find jobs.
As for the investment conference, it is meant to contribute to financing and investments in the IT sphere.
It was also emphasized that the Armenian Information Higher Technologies Council assisted to the organization of the arrangement.
