Yerevan resident Manvel Sargsian is seeking for a meeting with famous American singer and actress Cher (Cherilyn Sarkisian La Pierre), who came on tour to Moscow. As reported by Moskovsky Komsomolets Russian newspaper, in the Moscow airport of Sheremetyevo an Armenian rushed to the bus, in which Cher was sitting, and showed her a photo of a soldier dressed in a uniform of World War II. However Cher did not pay much attention to the incident and left. As Manvel Sargsian told a newspaper reporter later, his father Vardan and Cher’s father Karapet were brothers. In 1941 three of the Sargsian brothers went to the front as volunteers. One of the brothers was killed by the Germans, the second was fired by order of the Soviet officers, Karapet managed to leave through Bulgaria for the US, where he became John Sarkisian and never kept in touch with his relatives. Now his nephew Manvel wants to bring the ashes of his uncle to Armenia and is even ready to make a DNA test. According to the publication, if all this proves to be true, the relatives will find each other. However it not clear yet whether Cher would agree to make a blood test. Judging from her reaction in the airport she has not determined her stand yet, the newspaper supposes.
