ARMENIAN DOCTORS MAKE ALARM OVER POSSIBLE MEASLES EPIDEMIC

YEREVAN, JUNE 16. ARMINFO. 409 cases of measles have already been registered in Armenia, says deputy director of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention Sirak Sukyassyan.

There have been no measles outbursts since 1998. Only 2 cases were registered in 2003. The infected are mostly people over 18 who have not been vaccinated against the disease for various reasons. Health Care Ministry is taking all measures to prevent the epidemic. Experts forecast that the current situation may last till 2005.
