On the very top is Georgia with 15,400 books per 1,000 people followed by Monaco and Liechtenstein 9,910 and 5,100 respectively. In the top ten are also San Marino 3,858, Iceland 3,007, Armenia 2,056, Luxembourg 1,783, Estonia 1,613, Lithuania 1,599 and Macedonia 1,451. The UK ranks 30th, Germany 32nd, France 46th. In Bangladesh there is only 0.01 book per 1,000 people. The average global index is 236 books per 1,000 people. The attendance rate is not considered.
