YEREVAN, JANUARY 19, ARMENPRESS: The Yerevan Brandy Company (YBC), the leading Armenian brandy producer and exporter, acquired in 1998 by the French Pernod Ricard S.A, the leading European alcoholic beverage producer and the fifth largest worldwide, has said it has clocked up the year of 2003 with a $31.4 million turnover, a 17.16 percent surge over the previous year.
YBC sold last year 4,022 812 liters of Armenian brandy, by 16.86% more than in 2002. The volume of sale in Armenia constituted only 159,115 liters, however this figure was 52.68 percent more than the previous year. Around 91 percent of last year’s brandy were sold in 25 foreign countries.
