arminfo: EIGHT ARMENIAN COMPANIES RECEIVE `QUALITY MARK´ PRIZES

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 26. ARMINFO. On December 26, 2003, the Armenian Government conferred the “Quality Mark” prize on eight Armenian enterprises for their achievements in ensuring the quality of goods and services, as well as for the introduction of efficient quality control methods.

RA Minister of Territorial Administration and Coordination of Infrastructures, Chairman of the Government Commission for Awards Hovik Abramian pointed out that quality prizes are given in 40 countries, which is effective advertising of modern methods of quality control. The prize was awarded to the following companies: the “Almast” OJSC, “Euroterm” CJSC, “Gorisi GAMMA” OJSC, “Grant Tobacco” Ltd., “Daroink” ltd., “Armsavingsbank” CJSC, “Bari Samaratsi” Ltd., and “Yerevan Beer” CJSC. This is a testimony that more and more Armenian enterprises are manufacturing products meeting international standards.

Minister of Trade and Economic Development Karen Chshmaritian reported that next year the standards the Commission is guided by will be essentially tightened, but, besides prizes, the companies will received funds for production development.
