Head of the Roman Catholic Church John Paul II has awarded Armenian ambassador to France and Vatican Eduard Nalbandian the highest order of the Holy See – the Big Cross of St. George. In the words of Vatican state secretary Angelo Sodanon, the award is conferred “in honor of the country the ambassador represents at the Holy See, and as a sign of the Pope’s respect towards ambassador E. Nalbandian as well.”
