YEREVAN, OCTOBER 27, ARMENPRESS: Invited by Indian President Abdul Kalam, Armenian President Robert Kocharian and his wife Bella Kocharian will pay a state visit to India October 29. The ministers of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Economy Development, Education and Science, Agriculture, Armenian ambassador to India, other officials and journalists will accompany Armenian president. In India Robert Kocharian will meet with his counterpart Abdul Kalam, prime minister Atal Bihar Veejpai, vice president Bhairon Singh Shekhavat. Enlarged Armenian-Indian negotiations will take place and bilateral documents will be signed.
Robert Kocharian will meet with the representatives of Indian business circles and will address the gathering with a speech. He will then visit and lay a wreath to the Mahatma Gandhi’s monument. He will also participate in the opening of the Center of Caucasian Studies at the Chandigari Center for Agricultural and Industrial Researches.
Kocharian will visit the historical city Agra, the home to world famous Taj Mahal, and Lotus Temple, and will be present at a concert, symbolizing Armenian-Indian relations.
Armenian president also plans to meet with the head of Indian National Congress party Sonia Gandhi. He will also take part in the inauguration of the Armenian Embassy building in New Deli, and have meetings with Armenian community representatives, and the members of Calcutta Armenian Church Committee.
Armenian president Robert Kocharian will return to Yerevan November 1.
