YEREVAN, OCTOBER 13. ARMINFO. “I am a happy combination of Armenia and Russia,” People’s Artist of the USSR, the outstanding Russian-Armenian actor Armen Jigarkhanyan said at the concert held in the Karen Demirtchyan cultural-sport complex Sunday on the occasion of the 175th anniversary of Eastern Armenia’s accession into the Russian Empire.
This is a real not artificial holiday, Jigarkhanyan said and the mayor of Yerevan Yervand Zakharyan added that it symbolizes the centuries-long friendship of the Armenian and Russian peoples and their aspiration for spiritual unity. The prefect of the Central Administrative District of Moscow Gennady Degtev conveyed the congratulations of the Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov.
The concert was organized by the Moscow Center of Cooperation with Foreign Countries, the Alfael producer’s center, the Mccony concern.
