YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 27. ARMINFO. At September 26-27 night at approximately 1:20 am. local time, Editor-in-Chief of the Armenian newspaper “Or” Gayane Mukoyan and Director of the same newspaper Rafael Hovakimyan were violently beaten up near her house, in the crossroad of Moldovakan and David Malyan streets. According to Hovakimyan he brought Gayane Mukoyan home by his car “Zhigouli” which has a logotype “press” on it. In Moldovakan street another car “Niva” without a number-plate blocked their way, four young people having on them black head-dresses got out of the “Niva.” One of them introduced himself as a police officer and demanded that Hovakimyan gets out of his car and present his document. Hovakimyan asked him to introduce himself “in more details.” As a result, Hovakimyan was attacked by the men and beaten up. Scarcely had Gayane Mukyan tried to call on her mobile phone police that she was taken out of the car by force and given severe blows on her face. It should be noted Gayane Mukoyan is currently in hospital. Deputy Director of the Surgical Department Arthur Sokhakyan said that the sufferer has a nose fracture, however her health state is stable. No other fractures or hemorrhage were found.
