WASHINGTON, AUGUST 12. ARMINFO. Steven Shuklian, a Marshall University economics professor, was found dead Friday at Calamity Cafe, 1555 3rd Ave. Shuklian’s death is still under investigation, and his body has been sent to the Medical Examiner’s Office in South Charleston, said Detective Richard Knight with the Huntington Police Department. An anonymous female used a cell phone to report finding a deceased person at 1555 3rd Ave. at 1:49 a.m. Friday, according to an HPD report.Investigators cannot rule out homicide until receiving a report from the medical examiner, but there were no definite signs of foul play, Knight said. “The only visible injuries at the time were those consistent with a fall,” he said. Shuklian’s death may have been from natural causes, Knight said.
Shuklian, 50, is the second Marshall business professor to die within the past month. Joseph Abramson, who was to become interim head of the division of management and marketing, died July 14 in a 13- car crash on Interstate 64.
