YEREVAN, AUGUST 4, ARMENPRESS: A veteran Armenian politician Vazgen Manukian, the chairman of the National Democratic Union (NDU), argued last Friday that Armenia must support opening of its borders with Turkey, saying that opening of any communication route must become a priority of Armenian foreign policy, but he concurrently warned that open borders with Turkey may also cause damage to Armenia’s interests, boosting the growth of Turkish influence in the region, which he said may be manifested in different ways. Manukian said Armenia must be prepared to oppose such challenges.
