Yerevan, 1 August: Armenian President Robert Kocharyan today issued
a decree pardoning 42 people sentenced to the death penalty.
The presidential press service told Arminfo that under the decree,
42 people sentenced to death according to the Armenian Criminal Code
adopted on 7 March 1961 had been pardoned and their death penalty
had been commuted to life imprisonment.
