SMUGGLED MEDICINES ARRESTED
Armenian national security bodies arrested July 15 a Yerevan resident Sashik Galstian and a police officer of Shirak airport in Gyumri, who smuggled about 100 kg medicines from Russia to Armenia aboard a Moscow-Stepanavan flight.
The smuggled medicines were confiscated and a criminal case was launched against the two men.
The national security bodies also said they had arrested a Yerevan resident Suren Abelian, an employee of a US-Armenian software company who had established contacts with criminal elements in Russia and USA to obtain the state of the art equipment to start production and spread of child pornography, involving in his dirty business two other residents of Yerevan. The police had revealed about 50 videocassettes with child pornography while searching his apartment. A criminal case was launched.
