arminfo: ARMENIAN FILM DIRECTOR SERGEY PARAJANOV´s WORKS TO BE EXHIBITED DURING DAYS OF MOSCOW FILM FESTIVAL

YEREVAN, JUNE 19. ARMINFO. An exhibition of Sergey Parajanov’s works will be held June 21-29 within the frameworks of the XXV International Moscow Film Festival in Moscow.

The eminent film director’s collages, graphic arts and paintings will be delivered from Armenia. Over 60 creative works of Sergey Parajanov (1924-1990) will be presented to visitors. Many of his works Parajanov created in prison and camps. After the offical opening ceremony, a large cultural program will be presented to the guest.

Among the invitees are Russian President’s spouse Lyudmila Putina, Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov, Ambassadors of Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan and the Ukraine. President of Moscow Film Festival Nikita Mikhalkov is expected to open the exhibition. Among the invitees are also Russian Culture Minister Mikhail Shvidkoy, actors Oleg Tabakov, Armen Jigarkhanyan, film director Karen Shakhnazarov, poets Bella Akhmadoulina, Andrey Voznesenskiy and other cultural workers. It should be noted that Sergey Parajanov is known by his films “Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors,” “The Color of Pomegranate,” “The Legend of Suram Fortress,” “Ashik-Kerib.”
