armenpress: ARMENIAN POST SERVICE COMPLAINS TO INTERNATIONAL POST UNION

YEREVAN, JUNE 9, ARMENPRESS; Commercial manager of HayPost (Armenian Post) company Spartak Asoyan told Armenpress that the company has sent a complaint to the International Post Union to demand an end to, as he said, ‘encroachment” upon international mail, sent to Armenia via neighboring Iran.

Asoyan said the biggest portion of international parcels and mail bound for Armenia, arrive in Iran and from there to Armenia. He said many parcels are opened at an international mail processing center in Iranian Julfa, the content is robbed and there were instances, when instead stones were placed in them.

According to Asoyan, some 50,000 kg of mail arrives in Armenia monthly and 8,000 kg is sent from it. Mail arrives in Armenia mainly by air and railway traffic.
