An art festival is being held in Diarbekir Turkish city, during which Armenian works were also performed. As reported by “Aksham” Turkish newspaper, Suren Asadurian and Hilda Simonian presented the Armenian art. Addressing the opening of the festival Diarbekir mayor Feridun Celik stated different peoples should live side by side and Turkish, Kurdish and Armenian art is being freely presented at the festival under this motto. As noted by the newspaper, European Parliament deputy of Kurdish origin Feleknaz Uchar expressed hope for “the festival sounds to be also heard in Ankara.”
