FEBRUARY 6. ARMINFO-TURAN. The development of bilateral relations in the military sphere and situation in the South Caucasian region have been discussed at today’s meeting between Azerbaijan defense minister Safar Abiyev and general Kenan Denizi, head of Turkey’s National Security Academy. Press service of the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan reports that Safar Abiyev informed the guest about military-political situation in the South Caucasian region and sequences of Armenia’s aggression against Azerbaijan. “Several countries in this situation are using Armenia as an instrument of pressure against Azerbaijan. This is why it is extremely important for Azerbaijan and Turkey to operate jointly”, Abiyev has said. Kenan Denizi in turn has noted that Turks will fight along with Azeris against Armenians, if necessary.
