MediaMax: Former Armenian premier supports Turkey´s accession to EU

Armenia should be interested in Turkey’s accession to the European
Union (EU), former Armenian Prime Minister Grant Bagratyan said
in Yerevan today.

Bagratyan spoke at the National Press Club and expressed
confidence that Turkey’s membership in the EU would have a
positive affect on regional developments in terms of Armenia’s
national interests.

In this regard, the former prime minister called on the Armenian
authorities to refrain from actively lobbying in the West for
the recognition of the 1915 Armenian genocide.
