ArmInfo: EDITOR OF ARMENIAN NEWSPAPER `OR´ EXPELLED FROM NATIONAL PRESS CLUB FOR VIOLATION OF NORMS OF JOURNALISTIC ETHICS

NOVEMBER 15. Editor of the Armenian newspaper “Or” Gayane Mukoyan was expelled from the National Press Club (NPC) for violation of the norms of the journalists ethics, one of the NPC members Vardan Vardanyan said at a press-conference today. He said the NPC session made such a decision today. Vardanyan said Gayane Mukoyan was invited to the session, but did not attended it. Today, during their meeting at the Union of Journalists of Armenia, the heads of a number of opposition and government, as well as independent mass media leveled harsh criticism at publication of obscene photos in the newspaper. The meeting participants arrived at a decision to voice criticism addressed to the newspaper and the editor. It should be noted that the reason of this “newspaper scandal” was the photos of the editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Aravot,” Aram Abrahamyan, in the company of a naked woman published in the newspaper “Or” yesterday. It should be noted that these stills were taken from a video recording, which was put in circulation yet a year ago. It has been many times used as an instrument for blackmail against the editor-in-chief of “Aravot.”
