YEREVAN, OCTOBER 21, ARMENPRESS: A long-time professor of Italian at Yerevan State University and State Conservatory Hripsime Srapian was awarded last week the Italian Solidarity Star Order. The order was awarded to the Armenian professor by the decree of the president of Italy for her contributions to the dissemination of Italian language and culture.
It was handed over by Italy’s ambassador in Yerevan Mr. Paolo Trabalza. Mrs. Srapian has been teaching Italian for almost half a century. Ambassador Trabalza described her as “a pioneer and ambassador of the Italian who has been teaching love towards the Italian language and culture avoiding popular recognition and remaining modest, realizing that she was the only person to guide students towards Italy and its language and culture, especially when Armenia was part of the former USSR.”
