The Armenian Assembly of America (AAA) announced that well-known Armenian songstress, Nune Yesayan, will perform at the Assembly’s 30th Anniversary Gala on October 19.

The modern-day minstrel is internationally known for her unique style of singing, mixing traditional songs with popular culture. She has received many awards, including Armenia’s Top Female Singer in 2001 and Best Music Video in 2000. Her latest CD entitled, Love, also won her Best Pop Retro Album in 2001.

“I am delighted that a gifted singer such as Nune will help us celebrate this important milestone,” said Assembly Board of Trustees Chairman Hirair Hovnanian. “Many of us saw her outstanding performance in Yerevan following the recent Diaspora Conference, and we are all looking forward to seeing her again in Philadelphia for a night filled with great music, dancing, and fellowship.”

Nune launched her North American tour, in San Francisco on September 8. She performed in Fresno, Los Angeles, Chicago and Detroit and has scheduled performances in cities on the East Coast in early October.
