YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 5, ARMENPRESS: The National Olympic Committee of Armenia has taken today a generous decision whereby it pledges to issue an additional monthly premium in the amount of 55,000 Armenian Drams (about $100) to every Armenian that has won Olympic Games champion title.
Announcing the news, deputy culture and sports affairs minister Ishkhan Zakarian recalled that under a previous, 2000 decision of the government, Armenian Olympic champions get each 100,000 Drams as allowances. Their number now does not exceed half a dozen.
