Erevan. Turkish entrepreneurs are interested in opening the borders
on Armenia. As RIA Oreanda correspondent reports, Chairman of the
Chamber of Industry and Commerce of the city of Igdir, Taiar Oral,
said this at the press conference in Yerevan.

In Mr. Oral’s words, a group of entrepreneurs addressed the
Government of Turkey with this question, but the government does not
think this problem could be solved without the settlement of the
Karabakh conflict. In Mr. Oral’s opinion, “this depends on the
further policy of the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan”. The head
of the delegation said that opening of the borders is profitable for
all the countries of the region.

Secretary of the Armenian-Turkish Assembly, Ashot Sogomonyan, said at
the press conference that the import to Armenia makes up $40-45m per
annum, the export from Armenia to Turkey $1.5m. At that he noted that
the goods turnover between Armenia and Turkey via the third countries
makes up $300-400m. In Mr. Sogomonyan’s words, the entrepreneurs from
Turkey are interested in establishment of a joint venture in Armenia
and the enterprises with 100% Turkish capital.

We remind that the Turkish delegation came to Yerevan on August 16.
During the visit the entrepreneurs met with their Armenian
colleagues, visited the Ministry of Trade and Economic Development.
