Alex Karapetyn of Australia captured three golds in the men’s weightlifting 94kg event at the Commonwealth Games on Friday.
The Armenian-born Karapetyn took first place in the snatch (167.5kg), clean-and-jerk (215kg) and overall (365kg).
England’s David Guest took silver in the overall and silver in the snatch, while Canada’s Julien Galipeau took bronze in the overall and silver in the clean and jerk.
The bronze in the snatch went to Scotland’s Tommy Yule and England’s Karl Grant won the bronze in the clean and jerk.
