Armenian Historian Denied Entry to Turkey to Take Part in Symposium

A well-known Armenian historian Lavrenty Barsegyan
was denied entry visa to Turkey where he was invited by Turkish
scientists to take part in a scientific symposium on Armenian-Turkish relations. As press-office of Armenia’s foreign ministry told snark the reason of the denial was the status of the historian as he was to take part in the symposium as the director of the Museum-Institute of the Armenian Genocide.

Lavrenty Barsegyan told snark either he goes to Ankara in his present status or he does not go to Turkey at all. All the other Armenian scientists supported Barsegyan in hi decision and rejected the invitations to the symposium till Barsegyan is granted a visa.
