Putin To Visit Armenia

Vladimir Putin will visit Armenia during the second half of May 2001, to attend a summit of the CIS Collective Security Council.

Putin is scheduled to pay an official visit to Yerevan in autumn.
He first visited Yerevan when he headed the Russian government. In October 1999 he attended the ceremony to pay last respects to Armenia’s statesmen who had died as a result of the terrorist act in the conference hall of the republic’s parliament.

The presidents of Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, and Poland are also expected to visit Yerevan in the course of this year, according to president’s press office.
